Part 2

HUIS TEN BOSCH

Huis Ten Bosch is a theme park in Nagasaki Prefecture which recreates a Dutch town. It is named after one of the residences of the Dutch Royal Family. The spacious resort is suffused with a European atmosphere with its picturesque canals, iconic windmills, beautiful gardens and architecture. Seasonal flowers further enhance the attractiveness of the scenery. Visitors can have a good time indulging in the view, enjoying the many attractions, savoring a meal at one of the many restaurants or relaxing in a leisure boat touring the canals. Various events also take place at different times of the year, for example, a tulip festival during spring and a fireworks competition in the summer.

SPACE WORLD

Space World is a theme park in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan. Space World offers a variety of attractions, with events held daily, and Space Camp, Japan's first authentic educational space experience facility. It boasts over 30 attractions, ranging from mild rides suitable for children to exciting ones for thrill seekers. One key feature is "Venus GP", a roller coaster that twists and turns around a huge model of a space ship, making a 360 degree loop in the process. Other entertainment at the park include 4D simulators, family-orientated fun rides, song and dance theater shows, and carnival game stands (separate fee per game). Furthermore, there is a water park that opens only in the summer, where visitors can take a dip in the play pools or engage in interesting activities such as going down tall water slides.

YOMIURI LAND

Yomiuriland is one of the larger and well known Japanese amusement parks near Tokyo, first opened in 1964. It is situated on hillsides, and features modern thrill rides such as roller coasters and water flumes. Key attractions include the Bandit and MOMOnGA roller coasters and a bona fide bungee jump. Plenty of smaller, kid-friendly rides make this a decent day out for the whole family and, as far as Tokyo attractions go, it's relatively cheap. During the summer, Yomiuri Land opens its outdoor pool to the capital's wet'n'wild thrill seekers. The Giant Sky River (which charges extra) is the highlight, standing nearly 25m at its highest point, and running for 386m, navigable only with the use of a large rubber ring. Speed demons will get a minor pulse quickening on the straight and slalom slides, while more delicate types might like to consign themselves to the Anpanman pool – a much safer option. The park has a total of five pools, most of which get predictably crowded at weekends.

YOKOHAMA COSMO WORLD

Yokohama Cosmo World is located in the heart of Minato Mirai area of Yokohama. The park is an amusement park famous for its prominent image on the Yokohama skyline. Yokohama Cosmo world is reasonably priced, easily accessed and extremely family friendly. The park is divided into three zones according to age appropriateness. With its waterfront view on all ends, Yokohama Cosmo World is scenic and beautiful by day and the lighting make it a romantic place to walk at night. Yokohama Cosmo World has no entrance charge. Customers pay by the individual ride or attraction, allowing for cheaper overall costs. Prices range from ¥300-¥500 for the kiddie rides, and top off at ¥700 for the adult rides.
